First General Meeting of the Spring Semester with Terry Hull, P. E.
Our first general meeting of the Spring 2014 semester and we started it off with a bang!
Our President, Luigi, opened the meeting with a short list of events on the horizon. Engineer's Week is coming and we're partnering with IEEE and NSBE to do events all week long. We encourage members to get involved and build something, volunteer, or just attend an event.
Also, the spring semester means that many of our current officers are going to graduate at the end of this semester. This means almost all positions will be available for next year. Elections will be held in March. If you want to seriously help your resume as an engineering student, get that edge towards scholarships, and really make a difference in the quality of engineering students' lives next year, talk to a board member. Get involved!
Terry Hull, P.E., Vice President of FES - Southeast chapter came by and spoke to us about his journey through the engineering profession and the role of FES in his life - from straight out of college to Taylor, rising through the ranks of Taylor and to INTERA. Even more helpful was his experiences in FES and explaining how important the organization has been in Tallahassee, protecting our profession.
For a project, Luigi set up three teams to build laser transmitters. All the materials were provided and some people even took it further! Good showing!
Remember, our next general meeting is Tuesday, February 11th in 11-106 from 1pm to 2:30pm. See you there!
