On Saturday, September 13th and Sunday, September 14th the FES members of Valencia College participated as volunteers in the 2014 Maker Faire Orlando.
Maker Faire Orlando is a family friendly event featuring local do-it-yourself science, art, rockets, robots, crafts, technology, music, hands-on-activities, and more. Through this event, creators of all sorts are given a chance to showcase their projects and share what they have learned. It is a great way to promote interest in Science, art, and technology in the community. Click here for the official website to learn more: http://www.makerfaireorlando.com/
As volunteers, we assisted in soldering and Arduino workshops, science experiments, various tablings with the creators, and more. After we finished our volunteering shifts, we were given the opportunity to explore the event. Below are some of the pictures we took of our members at their volunteering stations and projects displayed/demonstrated. The expo was huge and a great experience for everyone!
